Fitz is a really friendly college, the accommodation and food isn't great but it has quite a relaxed attitude to work.

Music at Fitz it very comprehensive with 2 very accomplished a capella groups (both having sung at No. 10 Downing Street), a decent choir and lots of orchestra possibilities.

Lots get involved with sport and there is a huge amount of team spirit with the college easily punching above its weight.

Work is taken seriously but there is none of the unhealthy stress or pressure to be found at more central colleges.

If you're looking for a college where the people are friendly and unpretentious then Fitz is the place for you. The teaching is excellent with students generally achieving good grades, but the atmosphere is not as pressurised as at some of the other colleges. College sport is fun and easy to get involved in. The accommodation for Freshers is not brilliant, but it improves as you go up the years. This is not the place to go if you want historic surroundings; however the college bar has recently been refurbished and a new library is in the process of being built so facilities are improving. Fitz is a fair distance (by Cambridge standards!) from the centre of town, so you may want to bring a bike!

Amazing library, truly the nicest place I have ever done work. Accomodation is relatively basic but it is everything you need and the community is simply fantastic, the people are friendly and caring and always willing to help. The food is mostly good and well priced and the formals are great fun.

Fitz is a young college and has a lot of brilliant facilities and opportunities. We're one of the few colleges with our own theatre; we have a sports field just a five-minute walk away (which is home to rugby, hockey and football pitches as well as tennis courts), and a brand new library which opened this year has given access to over 60,000 books and lots of new studying space. We're aesthetically very different to the typical 'Cambridge' College but Fitz students are some of the most hardworking and competitive students you'll find in Cam. We enjoy a work-hard play-hard attitutde which means we've had some of the best sports teams in our membership as well as very active female and male singing groups (Fitz Barbershop and Fitz Sirens), a chapel choir and various other ensembles. Fitz is just big enough (but not too big) to ensure that there's a brilliant sense of community - we have regular quiz nights, music nights and our very own sports day! We're also one of the greener colleges - so if you like being able to laze in the gardens whilst revising then it's ideal! It's difficult to get an impression of a place online so if you're interested in Fitz you should definitely come and visit - visitors are always welcome!

The loveliest and most down to earth of all Cambridge colleges. Not stuffy at all. Friendly fun people and good parties!!

Don't be too put off by the buildings (which let's face it are pretty underwhelming). Very good community spirit and fun, relaxed people here.. Also lots of space and beautiful old house in the middle (the Grove - check it out when you're there... Darwin's old house??)
